Have you been struggling with varicose veins? If you have bulging, blue veins on your legs, or if you have symptoms other than cosmetic issues, it is important that you know and understand all of your options for treatment. Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive treatment for varicose veins and spider veins. During the procedure, a sclerosing agent is injected into the vein, causing the vein to scar. This causes the vein to close off, and it eventually disappears. Sclerotherapy is typically used for treating the cosmetic appearance of spider veins. At GBR Plastic Surgery, we offer Asclera® sclerotherapy treatments to help you get back the legs of your dreams. Call us today to get started.

What is Asclera® Sclerotherapy?

Millions of men and women are affected by unattractive spider veins and varicose veins, but you don’t have to live with them. Asclera® injections are a prescription medicine injected into veins in a minimally invasive procedure called sclerotherapy, as mentioned above. Asclera® is a sclerosing agent that works by damaging the lining of cells inside blood vessels. When injected into the problematic vein, Asclera® causes cellular debris and platelets to attach to the lining of the blood vessels and lead to a clot. This clotted vein is eventually replaced with tissue. After enough time, the blood vessel clots and is replaced by the body’s own tissue.

What Are The Benefits of Asclera®?

Spider and varicose veins are common issues that can significantly impact the look of your skin. If you suffer from small and uncomplicated spider or varicose veins, Our team at GBR Plastic Surgery may recommend treatment with Asclera®. These Injections are a minimally invasive treatment that can be performed in a doctor’s office, making sclerotherapy very appealing to many patients. But sclerotherapy does not work for all types of veins; when you have your consultation, we will examine your areas of concern and will curate a treatment plan that works best for you.

What Can I Expect During Treatment?

During your Ascleraa® Injections treatment, you can expect the session to last anywhere from 15-45 minutes. After your procedure, you should continuously wear a support hose or compression stockings for 2-3 days and then for 2-3 weeks during the day. In some cases, more than one treatment session is needed. Sessions should be spaced at least one week apart. If you are interested in getting back to a better you, contact our practice today!
